How we got here
Both men won the WBA 'super' title by beating Wladimir Klitschko: Fury in Dusseldorf in November 2015, Joshua at Wembley in April 2017. They came closest to fighting each other in 2021, when Fury said a fight in Saudi Arabia was "100% on" before an arbitration ruling sent him back to Deontay Wilder. The 2021 collapse.
