Tyson Fury has recruited Joe Joyce, Jarrell Miller and Aleksei Dronov as sparring partners for his December fight with Anthony Joshua, choosing three big men to match Joshua's height and weight.
Fury and Joshua meet at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff in a domestic heavyweight showdown that has been more than a decade in the making. Both cleared their final hurdles in July, Fury beating Mariusz Wach and Joshua beating Kristian Prenga. Fury is preparing at the Delray Boxing Club in Miami, Florida, under head coach SugarHill Steward. Joshua has not revealed any details of his own camp.
Joyce, the 2016 Olympic silver medallist, stands 6ft 6in, the same height as Joshua, and has sparred with the former two-time unified heavyweight champion in the past.
Dronov, a 24-year-old Russian southpaw, is 6ft 5in and weighs more than 19 stone. He won gold at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games as well as European and World Youth titles, and has knocked out all 12 of his opponents since turning professional a little over two years ago. He was one of Fury's key sparring partners before the rematch with Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024.
Miller returns to the camp despite failing five drug tests during his career. The American previously helped Fury prepare for his WBC title defence against Dillian Whyte. He weighed 21 stone for his most recent fight in January and is known for constant forward pressure and head movement rather than a style resembling Joshua's.
Fury, 38, said camp is his happy place and that he is as happy as he has ever been.
