Tyson Fury's camp have denied to Sky Sports News Frank Bruno's claim that an injury may stop him facing Anthony Joshua next month. The fight is set to go ahead as scheduled on 11 December at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff for the WBA (Super) heavyweight title.

Bruno made the claim on the Fight Your Corner podcast. "I looked at him the other day and I think someone was talking to me in the gym that he's got some injury, which may stop him from going into the fight with Anthony Joshua? And having that on your head ain't nice," he said. The former heavyweight world champion did not identify the person or say what the injury might be. Tony Bellew, alongside him on the podcast, replied that Fury plays up to the camera, adding: "I do think Tyson Fury is the master of the mind games."

Fury, 38, is aiming to weigh 280lbs for Joshua, within a pound of the heaviest weight of his career. He has fought twice this year, outpointing Arslanbek Makhmudov in April and stopping Mariusz Wach three months later.

Last week he said he intends to carry on boxing after December. "I'm going to continue. I've got two fights left on my contract. I'll finish the contract off and then probably sign another 10-fight deal. Who knows?" he said when speaking to WSVN Miami from his training camp.

The fight is due to begin at around 1am in the early hours of Saturday 12 December, with the stadium remaining open until 3.30am.
