Anthony Joshua has said he will relish the pressure of facing Tyson Fury when the pair meet in Cardiff on 11 December, with Fury expected to start as the favourite.
The all-British fight is set to settle a rivalry that has been building for a decade. Joshua, the Olympic champion, was speaking at the launch of Under Armour's HeatGear and ColdGear baselayers.
He said: “Pressure comes with every part of this sport.” Joshua said he had learned not to run from it, adding: “You have to embrace it and when you've put the work in, pressure becomes something that drives you forward.” Joshua said last month that he believes the fight's organisers want Fury to win. He said he wanted to bring the fight to the UK and do good for people, but if that meant people would hate him and want to see him fail, he would bring a war they were not ready for. Anyone who wanted to see him lose, he said, would get even worse in return.
On Fury himself, Joshua said: “He’ll be trying to get under my skin, 100 per cent. I need to be stoic and calm because it’s nothing personal. I know what sort of person he is.”
