Chael Sonnen says no UFC fighter has called out Gable Steveson
Steveson, the Olympic wrestling champion, was knocked out in 12 seconds by Sean Sharaf at UFC 331, and Sonnen says his critics are not the fighters asking to face him.
Chael Sonnen says none of the people saying Gable Steveson does not belong in the UFC are fighters asking to face him.
"Because the one other thing that I have noticed in the media, not one guy has called him out. Not one guy has challenged Gable," Sonnen said on his YouTube channel.
"But not one guy under contract has asked for that opportunity... All you got to do is get on the bout agreement opposite him," he added. "And of all the people that are so sure he doesn't belong, apparently not one of those guys is under contract with the UFC because not one of those guys has asked for the shot."
Steveson, the 2020 Olympic wrestling champion, was knocked out in 12 seconds by Sean Sharaf at UFC 331 in Los Angeles on 19 September, the first defeat of his mixed martial arts career: Gable Steveson, from Olympic gold to a 12-second knockout.
