What happens if Fury vs Joshua is cancelled? Replacements, tickets and what comes next

Is Fury vs Joshua cancelled?
No. Tyson Fury against Anthony Joshua is still scheduled for Friday 11 December at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, live on Netflix, and nothing has been officially called off. But it is in doubt. Sources told Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix that Turki Alalshikh, who is funding the fight, wants Dana White as a promoter, while Joshua and Eddie Hearn have a contract that rules him out: Fury vs Joshua in doubt.
What have the two sides said since?
Hearn told Dan Rafael that White and TKO "have been written to". Asked whether it would be sorted out, he said: "Probably but who knows?" White, asked at the Zuffa Boxing 11 press conference in London on Saturday night whether the fight will happen, said: "That I don't know. That I don't know." He also told Hearn to "finance the fight yourself": Dana White on Hearn and Fury vs Joshua.
What would replace it on 11 December?
The Ring's Mike Coppinger reported that Terence Crawford against Ryan Garcia is being considered as a replacement, with Fury against David Benavidez another option, theScore reported. Crawford beat Canelo Alvarez in September 2025 and retired three months later.
What would Fury and Joshua do instead?
Fury has already pointed to another option. When the fight looked off earlier this month, he turned his attention to a third fight with Oleksandr Usyk, the only man to have beaten him, The Telegraph reported.
What about tickets?
No tickets have gone on sale and no prices have been announced, so nobody holds a ticket that would need refunding: Fury vs Joshua tickets. Anyone who has already booked a hotel or travel for the weekend should check the cancellation terms of that booking.
What happens next?
The next marker is the launch press conference, due on Wednesday 30 September in London, which Rafael reported is "in limbo". Whether it goes ahead, and who is on the stage, will be the first sign of whether the row over White's role has been settled.
