Eddie Hearn: 'Netflix clearly didn't get the memo' on Dana White and Fury vs Joshua

Anthony Joshua's promoter says Dana White cannot be involved in the Cardiff fight despite being named in the announcement, and that he will remind Netflix of its contractual obligations.

Eddie Hearn has hit back after Dana White was named in the announcement of Tyson Fury against Anthony Joshua, saying Netflix "clearly didn't get the memo".

Thursday's announcement of the fight, on 11 December at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff and live on Netflix, said White would be involved in the promotion. Speaking to IFL TV later on Thursday, Joshua's promoter said that could not happen.

"Dana White told everybody he's promoting the show, he's bringing the fight to America, he knows where the venue is. Obviously, we know that didn't happen. Dana White cannot be involved with this fight. Netflix clearly didn't get the memo."

Hearn said he would take it up with the streamer. "I'll be speaking to Netflix just to remind them of their contractual obligations. And it'll be dealt with."

He also mocked White for getting his name into the announcement. "When I saw the press release, I just couldn't stop p*ssing myself. You really got them to include your name in the press conference. You silly, soppy tit."

White had talked about taking the fight to Madison Square Garden. Hearn said: "The biggest fight in the history of British boxing... And we'll just put it in Madison Square Garden. Well, guess what? Motherf*cker. That didn't happen."

He then turned to White's Zuffa Boxing show at London's Copper Box Arena on Saturday, where Johnny Fisher faces Michael Pirotton. "Give it up, son. You're coming to the Copper Box on Saturday. You've sold about 2000 tickets, right?"

"What you can't do is weasel yourself into a press conference after you've been royally mugged off, pants down, bent over, butt cheeks spanked," Hearn said. "We won the race. The fight's happening in the UK. And on we go."

Fury and Joshua face each other at a launch press conference in London next week.
