Ryan Garcia and Teofimo Lopez in advanced talks for 6 February fight in New York or Las Vegas
The fight would unify Garcia's WBC and Lopez's WBA welterweight titles, though the WBA has ordered Lopez to defend against Jack Catterall.

Ryan Garcia's WBC welterweight title and Teofimo Lopez's WBA belt could be on the line on 6 February, with The Ring reporting that the pair are in advanced talks for a 147lb unification fight in New York or Las Vegas. No deal has been announced.
The two camps were already in advanced talks earlier this month over a fight in the first quarter of 2027. The main obstacle is Lopez's WBA title. The organisation has ordered him to defend against mandatory challenger Jack Catterall, and his team have petitioned the WBA for an exception to allow the unification.
Garcia made the first defence of his WBC title on 12 September, knocking out Conor Benn in the second round at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Lopez, who won the WBA title with a majority decision over Rolly Romero at the same venue in August, was stopped by security in the arena after Garcia's win.
