Pacquiao-Stevenson double main event remains in talks for Joshua-Fury show

Netflix wants Manny Pacquiao versus Shakur Stevenson to anchor a proposed double main event for Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury’s potential Cardiff show, BoxingScene reports. Agreements have not yet been delivered and Pacquiao’s financial package is still being negotiated.

BoxingScene reports that Netflix wants Manny Pacquiao versus Shakur Stevenson to form a double main event alongside the proposed Anthony Joshua-Tyson Fury fight in Cardiff.

The event currently appears to be targeted for 11 December at Principality Stadium, although it could move to 18 December if required. The venue’s ability to provide cover from poor weather is also a factor in the plans.

However, bout agreements have not been sent to either Stevenson or Pacquiao, according to Pacquiao adviser Jas Mathur. Mathur also said Pacquiao’s financial package remains under negotiation. Representatives of TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of Stevenson’s promoter Zuffa Boxing, are in contact with Mathur.

Stevenson is unbeaten at 25-0 with 11 knockouts and joined Zuffa Boxing after beating Teofimo Lopez by near-shutout unanimous decision on 31 January at Madison Square Garden. Pacquiao, a former eight-division champion, is 62-8-3 with 39 knockouts and last fought on 19 July 2025, drawing with then-WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios.

The potential pairing has been framed as a generational meeting between two leading fighters. Stevenson is 29, while Pacquiao is 47 and is in the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Negotiators connected to Joshua and Fury have indicated that an announcement for their heavyweight fight could come as soon as this week. Joshua is 30-4 with 27 knockouts, while Fury is 36-2-1 with 25 knockouts.
