Abdelaziz had teased the signing on X: "[RAF] Just signed one of the most infamous fighters in UFC history, stay tuned. Big news coming soon."
Magomedsharipov, 35, was 18-1 in mixed martial arts and last fought in the UFC in November 2019, when he beat Calvin Kattar on a decision. He retired from MMA in 2022, citing cancelled fights and health issues, and went on to pursue a career in medicine.
He returned to competition in August after nearly seven years away, beating Youssef Zalal on a unanimous decision in a grappling match. He had been due to compete at ACBJJ 21 in July but withdrew with an undisclosed injury.
