Khamzat Chimaev booked to wrestle Robbie Lawler at RAF 14 on 23 October

Khamzat Chimaev will face Robbie Lawler in a catchweight wrestling match in Las Vegas on 23 October, MMA Mania reports. Lawler has not competed since his UFC retirement fight in 2023.

Khamzat Chimaev will wrestle Robbie Lawler at catchweight at RAF 14 on 23 October, MMA Mania reports. The bout is scheduled for Fontainebleau in Las Vegas.

The booking brings former UFC welterweight champion Lawler back into competition for the first time since his retirement fight at UFC 290 in 2023. Now 44, Lawler earned All-State honours as a high school wrestler at Bettendorf High in Iowa.

Chimaev, 32, brings a more extensive wrestling pedigree as a three-time Swedish freestyle national champion. He is also scheduled to headline an upcoming RAF card in Abu Dhabi.

Arman Tsarukyan faces Dillon Danis in the RAF 14 main event. The card also features appearances from Sarah Hildebrandt, Michael Page, Jordan Burroughs, Vito Arujau and Jordan Oliver, with the event streaming exclusively on FOX Nation.
