Fury vs Joshua: Hearn expects a 1am main event and doubts next week's press conference

Anthony Joshua's promoter says the boxing in Cardiff will start at around 8pm or 9pm UK time on 11 December, with the main event in the early hours, and that issues including Dana White's role are still unresolved.

British fans face a late night for Tyson Fury against Anthony Joshua. Eddie Hearn expects the main event in Cardiff on Friday 11 December to go off at around 1am to 1:30am UK time, and possibly later.

"It's my understanding [the main event] will be around 1-1:30 AM. But, again, if it creeps to 2, I don't know," Hearn said, speaking via Matchroom Boxing, Boxing News reported. "You're really looking at boxing probably starting around 8 PM or 9 PM."

That fits the fight contracts, which The Telegraph reported put the ring walks no later than 2am UK time on Saturday 12 December. The fight is live on Netflix at no extra cost to members.

The press conference is in doubt. Fury and Joshua are due to face each other at the British Airways Arc in London next week, but Hearn told IFL TV he was not sure it would happen, Bloody Elbow reported.

"I've said to Netflix, and we've got a lot of stuff to still sort out around the fight, the preferences of who gets what," Hearn said. "We're supposed to do a press conference next week, I'm not sure whether that'll happen or not, to be honest with you, because there are still a few things we need ironing out."
