Carlos Prates tells Islam Makhachev's manager 'I will finish his legacy'
Ali Abdelaziz told the welterweight contenders to talk less. Prates, who fights Michael Morales for the interim title at UFC 336, said Makhachev would fight the number one contender if he fought for passion.

Carlos Prates has told Islam Makhachev's manager, Ali Abdelaziz, that he will "finish" the welterweight champion's legacy, after Abdelaziz told the division's contenders to talk less.
Abdelaziz wrote on X: "If you're a contender. Islam is the champion and maybe the greatest fighter of this generation. Talk less, because he'll make you look bad. None of you add to his legacy. He fights for passion, love of the sport, and the fans."
Prates replied on X on 27 October: "If he fights for passion, he would fight the number 1 contender in January. I will not add anything on his legacy, I will finish his legacy brother, and also, he will make me look great. Mark my words."
Prates faces Michael Morales for the interim welterweight title at UFC 336 on 30 January at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, and the winner is due to face Makhachev to unify the belts.
Makhachev turned down a title defence against Prates, citing the Brazilian's recent loss to Ian Machado Garry, a fighter Makhachev has already beaten. Prates has repeatedly accused the champion of avoiding him.
