Lou DiBella has torn into 61-year-old Oliver McCall's fight with Jeremiah Williams, calling it "immoral, dangerous, and just sad" hours before the former WBC heavyweight champion was due back in the ring in Nashville on Tuesday night.

DiBella, inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2022, wrote on X while quoting a post about McCall's weigh-in: "This is immoral, dangerous, and just sad. Take #boxing these days ... I can't anymore with the whole damn thing. There's something I smh about every f***ing day. Used to be the guilty pleasure of sports. Now it's just guilty."

McCall weighed in at 234.5lbs for what Bloody Elbow called his 79th professional bout, his fourth since returning in 2024 after a five-year break. Williams, whose record stands at 19-14-2, has boxed 35 times. Bloody Elbow said McCall has gone 78 pro bouts without being dropped and, citing BoxRec, put him on 445 career rounds against 138 for Williams.

McCall stopped Lennox Lewis in London in 1994 to win the WBC title. Frank Bruno took it from him on a unanimous decision at Wembley Stadium in 1995. A planned October return against Nigeria's Ike Ibeabuchi was cancelled because of a lack of interest in the event, Bloody Elbow reported.
