Jake Paul says he'll retire if he loses to Cedric Doumbe: 'I will hang up the gloves'
Paul says he has two titanium plates in his mouth and thought about quitting after Anthony Joshua broke his jaw. He fights Doumbe in Dubai on Christmas Eve.

Jake Paul says his Christmas Eve fight with Cedric Doumbe will be his last if he loses it.
"If he wins, I will hang up the gloves and call it a day," Paul said in a video on his own YouTube channel. "But if he loses, the man who calls himself the best just got beat up by a YouTuber with a titanium jaw." Much of the film is played for laughs, but the line came at the end, straight to camera, shortly after Paul said: "Now, all jokes aside, this is a dangerous fight."
The eight-round bout at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on Thursday 24 December is Paul's first since Anthony Joshua broke his jaw and knocked him out in the sixth round last December. Pretending to sob as sad music played, Paul said the defeat made him think about walking away: "Honestly, after Joshua, a part of me thought about quitting and never boxing again. He broke my jaw. I have 2 titanium plates in my mouth. I couldn't eat for weeks ... do I still want to do this? Yeah, obviously I still want to do this. I ain't no b****."
The video follows him to a doctor's office on 10 September for clearance on the jaw, where he is told "his jaw has healed". Paul then says he is "officially medically cleared to fight". A health advisor is less keen on a phone call. "You've broken bones, you're taking big blows to your head, and this just ... it compounds over time," the advisor tells him. Asked to promise there is an end to it, Paul replies: "There's an end when I become world champion." He then pretends to take another call and hangs up.
Paul said of Doumbe: "Cedric made his debut in Dubai, and now his career will be ending in Dubai." Doumbe has already promised: "I'm going to finish the job Joshua started."
The same video has Logan Paul asking "Who the f*** is that?" when told the name of his brother's opponent. Britain's Darren Till says he had been in camp for two weeks preparing to fight Paul in Dubai on 24 December when Doumbe was announced.
