Jake Paul says he and Canelo Alvarez 'will dance' after Christian Mbilli win
Paul, who returns in Dubai on Christmas Eve with no opponent named, said Alvarez was the same fighter after 13 months out but "did take a lot of punches".

Jake Paul has told Canelo Alvarez "we will dance" in a post on X, after watching Alvarez beat Christian Mbilli by unanimous decision to win the WBC super middleweight title in Riyadh.
"Out of the ring for 13 months but still the same old Canelo. Respect," Paul wrote on X. "Did take a lot of punches though. We will dance my friend, we will dance."
No fight between them is booked. The two teams held serious discussions at the start of 2025, and Bloody Elbow called the fight a "done deal" before Alvarez opted to sign a multi-fight deal with Turki Alalshikh instead.
Alvarez's trainer, Eddy Reynoso, said after the Mbilli fight that he would like Terence Crawford to be next, but that the team would rest first. Crawford beat Alvarez by unanimous decision in September 2025.
Paul has not boxed since last December, when Anthony Joshua stopped him and broke his jaw. He returns on Thursday 24 December, headlining an MVP event in Dubai, with his opponent still to be named. Darren Till has said he is waiting for a contract to fight Paul.
