Jake Paul will return to boxing on Thursday 24 December, headlining an MVP event in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The promotion has yet to name his opponent or say where the event will be shown.
The fight comes almost exactly a year after Paul's last outing, against heavyweight Anthony Joshua, in which his jaw was broken. He needed multiple surgeries to repair the fracture.
That defeat ended a six-fight winning streak that included victories over veteran boxers Mike Tyson and Julio César Chávez Jr and MMA stars Nate Diaz and Mike Perry. Paul's professional record stands at 12-2.
Paul said in a statement: “Nothing that’s happened has changed my belief in myself or what I’m working toward. I’m hungrier than ever, and on Thursday, December 24, I’m returning to the ring in Dubai to start the next chapter of my journey.” On the search for an opponent, he said: “We’ve got plenty of names on the list; let’s see who signs the contract.” He added: “Santa Paul is coming to town, and somebody’s getting knocked out.”
