King Charles III met young people taking part in boxing programmes at an academy in the Bahamas, where he was given a pair of boxing gloves to mark the visit.
The monarch was also pictured leaving the Frank Warren Building, which carries the promoter's name in recognition of his association with BoxWise. The academy was built by Nicholas Maughan CBE, who co-founded the charity. Warren chairs its development board, and BoxWise is a charitable partner of his promotional company, Queensberry Promotions.
BoxWise was set up to give disadvantaged and vulnerable young people opportunities through boxing, with the aim of helping to tackle gang violence and knife crime. It runs 10-week programmes across the United Kingdom, using the sport to offer structure, support and opportunities to young people who might otherwise struggle to find them.
Those programmes are now delivered through England Boxing-affiliated gyms, schools and youth centres around the country.
