Raul Rosas Jr. has jumped into the UFC Meta rankings top 10 after his fifth-round stoppage of Raoni Barcelos at UFC Vegas 121.

Rosas, now No. 8 at bantamweight, has won six straight and is 13-1. He sits behind David Martinez at No. 7 and Cory Sandhagen at No. 6. Petr Yan is the champion, with Merab Dvalishvili, Song Yadong, Sean O'Malley, Mario Bautista and Umar Nurmagomedov making up the top five. Barcelos, who was No. 13 before the fight, is no longer in the top 15. He left the Octagon on a stretcher and was taken to hospital, and has since said he is "doing really well".

The climb puts Rosas, who turns 22 on 8 October, closer to his target of beating Jon Jones's record as the youngest UFC champion. Jones won the light heavyweight title at 23. Rosas has said two or three more fights could get him a title shot, and told The Ariel Helwani Show the Barcelos fight was "all or nothing".

The UFC began moving its official rankings from a media panel to the Meta system on 22 June. The Meta list is calculated from fight data and updates by the Monday after every official UFC event.

Montel Jackson, who stopped Ricky Simon in the second round on the same card, climbed three places to No. 12. Marlon Vera dropped two places to No. 14 and Bryce Mitchell one to No. 15.
