On this day in 2013: Frampton stops Parodi in Belfast title eliminator
The Belfast fighter kept his European and IBF Inter-Continental super-bantamweight titles against the IBF's fourth-ranked contender.

Carl Frampton knocked out Jeremy Parodi in the sixth round at the Odyssey Arena 13 years ago today. The win came in an IBF title eliminator and moved the Northern Irishman closer to a world title shot.
The fight ended at 2:59 of the sixth round on 19 October 2013. Frampton, then 26, put his European and IBF Inter-Continental super-bantamweight titles on the line against Parodi, who was ranked fourth by the IBF. A maximum-capacity crowd of 9,000 watched in Belfast.
Frampton returned to the same arena on 4 April 2014 for a final eliminator for Leo Santa Cruz's WBC super-bantamweight title. He knocked out the Mexican Hugo Cazares in the second round with a left hook to the head, again in front of 9,000.
He went on to win the IBF super-bantamweight title, which he held from 2014 to 2016. He added the Super version of the WBA super-bantamweight title in 2016, then moved up to hold the Super version of the WBA featherweight title from 2016 to 2017.
Frampton boxed professionally from 2009 to 2021 and held world titles in two weight classes.
