On this day in 2003: Moore stops Logan to keep British and Commonwealth belts
The finish came 2:44 into the fifth of 12 scheduled rounds at the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester.

Jamie Moore kept hold of his British and Commonwealth super welterweight titles 23 years ago today, stopping Gary Logan in the fifth round at the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester on 18 October 2003.
The contest, scheduled for 12 rounds, was halted at 2:44 of the fifth. Moore won by technical knockout and left the ring with both championships still in his possession.
The result came early in Moore's time at the top of the domestic and Commonwealth scene. Born on 4 November 1978, he was 24 on the night and four years into a professional career that had begun in 1999. He first held the two titles in 2003, so the defence against Logan came in the same year his first reign began.
Moore held the British and Commonwealth super welterweight titles twice between 2003 and 2007, a run in which the Logan win formed part of the first spell.
He moved up to continental level later in his career, winning the European super welterweight title in 2009, and boxed professionally until 2010. Since leaving the ring he has worked as a boxing trainer.
