Daniel Dubois stops Fabio Wardley again as Frank Warren eyes unification fights
Frank Warren is targeting heavyweight unification fights in 2027 after Daniel Dubois kept his WBO title, with Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua meeting in Cardiff on 11 December for the vacant WBA 'super' belt.

Frank Warren wants to bring the heavyweight titles together next year after Daniel Dubois retained his WBO belt by stopping Fabio Wardley in the second round at London's O2 Arena on Saturday.
The Queensberry promoter already has three of the four world champions: Dubois, WBC titleholder Agit Kabayel and IBF champion Filip Hrgovic. The remaining belt, the vacant WBA 'super' title, will be decided when Tyson Fury, 38, and Anthony Joshua, 37, meet in Cardiff on 11 December. That leaves an all-British fight between Dubois and the winner as Warren's target for 2027.
Asked whether that was his ideal scenario, Warren said it remained to be seen, but that the only option was to keep making the best fights. He said the champions would have to keep fighting each other rather than slip back to lesser opponents, and that Fury would be fighting Joshua for the other belt on the 11th. He said: “But after that, next year, that’s what we want. We want to be making unification fights.” Either opponent would carry history for Dubois. Fury has been with Queensberry alongside him for close to a decade, and the pair have been linked to a fight for some time. Dubois knocked Joshua out at Wembley Stadium in 2024 to become a world champion, so a Joshua win in Cardiff would open the door to a unification rematch. Dubois has said he welcomes fights with both men.
Warren also has plans for Kabayel to box in Germany and for Hrgovic to fight at home in Croatia before matching the division's biggest names. Hrgovic is another likely opponent for Dubois in a rematch.
Dubois, 29, had already beaten Wardley with an 11th-round stoppage in May. Their rematch ended when Wardley's trainer, Ben Davison, threw in the towel two minutes and 21 seconds into the second round.
