Josh Kelly has agreed terms to fight Jaron Ennis for three world titles, says trainer
Sunderland's IBF champion is waiting only on a date for the super welterweight unification, Adam Booth says. Ennis holds the WBA and WBO belts.
Josh Kelly has agreed terms for a three-belt unification with Jaron "Boots" Ennis, according to his trainer, Adam Booth, and the fight is waiting only on a date.
"We've agreed all the terms," Booth told Tris Dixon. "And apparently, from what I've been told, so has Boots. We're just waiting for the date."
Kelly, 32, from Sunderland, holds the IBF super welterweight title, which he won by beating Bakhram Murtazaliev on 31 January. Ennis, promoted by Eddie Hearn, holds the WBA and WBO belts at 154 pounds. The two sides had agreed to fight once before, before Kelly won the IBF title.
State Farm Arena in Atlanta has been reported as the expected venue, with late November or December the target. Nothing has been announced.
