Rodtang Jitmuangnon like a new fighter before Nong-O, says nutritionist Peter Miller

The pair meet in a ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix quarter-final at Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium on 13 November, a year after their title fight was cancelled when Rodtang fell ill.

Rodtang Jitmuangnon has followed his diet and training plans 100 per cent before facing Nong-O Hama, according to his nutritionist Peter Miller, who likened the former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion's current outlook to a new beginning.

The 29-year-old meets Nong-O at The Inner Circle 38 on Friday 13 November, with a place in the Grand Prix semi-finals at stake. Winning would also take Rodtang a step closer to regaining the flyweight title now held by Asadula Imangazaliev.

Miller, who runs Condition Nutrition and has worked closely with Rodtang, said: “He’s very motivated, and I can see that in him. His mood and enthusiasm for this fight are probably the best I’ve seen, so I’m very happy.” Rodtang's recent difficulties include trouble on the scales. He lost the title after missing weight for his November 2024 bout against Jacob Smith, having defended it five times during a five-year reign. A year later, he made weight and passed hydration testing for ONE 173, only to fall ill shortly afterwards, which led to the cancellation of his world title fight with Nong-O. He then suffered a fifth-round TKO defeat by Takeru Segawa in April.

Miller said the two remain in regular contact during camp: “He’s really motivated with the plan, following everything. We’re always checking in with each other to check that everything’s going to plan, and it is. So I’m very happy. He’s in a really good place.” Nong-O, a former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion, defended that title seven times before moving down to flyweight.
