Chris Eubank Jr apologises to Robert Smith and the British Boxing Board of Control
Eubank says he has agreed a settlement "on confidential terms", and Eddie Hearn says he has "cleared the air with him".

Chris Eubank Jr has retracted in full what he said about Robert Smith and the British Boxing Board of Control at a press conference before his rematch with Conor Benn, and has agreed a confidential settlement with them.
The press conference, on 17 September 2025, was held to publicise the rematch. In a statement posted on X on Thursday, Eubank said: "I accept that these statements are untrue and without any foundation. I accept that neither Mr Smith nor the Board are corrupt and I retract my statements in full."
"I have agreed a settlement of these matters on confidential terms. The parties now consider the matter resolved. I apologise for the harm caused to both Mr Smith and the Board," he added.
One of the statements Eubank retracted was that Smith was "in the back pockets of Matchroom and Eddie Hearn". Hearn, who runs Matchroom, said: "I was deeply offended by what Eubank said because it was questioning the reputation or the integrity of our company... I've cleared the air with him... And I'm happy to do that with anybody."
