Willy Hutchinson called Joshua Buatsi a fatty after Friday's ceremonial weigh-in for their rematch, and promised to "open a can of whoop-ass" on him when they fight for the vacant WBC light heavyweight title on Saturday night.

"I just believe what I believe, and I believe I'm far too good for this man here, and he knows it because he's a fatty," Hutchinson told DAZN's Darren Barker after the pair faced off for the final time.

Asked whether he had matured since their first fight, Hutchinson said: "No, not really." He said becoming WBC champion would mean the world to him, but that being happy mattered most and the title was a bonus. "I can't wait to get in this ring tomorrow night and show this and open a can of whoop-ass on this guy," he said.

Barker then asked Buatsi how he wins the fight. "Darren, he's talking like we ain't done it before. We've done it before," Buatsi said. Asked about the first fight, he said: "Everyone is saying so many things, Darren. God has the final say."

Buatsi won their first fight on a split decision at Wembley Stadium in September 2024 and knocked Hutchinson down twice. Both men made weight earlier on Friday, Buatsi at 174.9 lb and Hutchinson at 174.5 lb, for the fight at Manchester's AO Arena, live on DAZN.
