Jasmine Jasudavicius says Erin Blanchfield underestimated her at UFC Edmonton
The Canadian beat Blanchfield on a decision in Saturday's co-main event and said a rematch with flyweight champion Natalia Silva, who beat her in 2022, would go differently.

Jasmine Jasudavicius said Erin Blanchfield overlooked her after winning a decision over Blanchfield in the co-main event of UFC Edmonton on Saturday, a result that unsettles the flyweight contender picture.
Blanchfield went in as the favourite, with a win expected to put her in contention for a title shot. Instead, Jasudavicius became only the second woman to beat her in the UFC, building the victory on her grappling over the first two rounds.
Jasudavicius said Blanchfield's previous success had led her to overlook the fight. Asked at the post-fight press conference whether Blanchfield had underestimated her, she said: “I do think that she did underestimate me. She’s obviously a talented grappler, but I’m big, I’m strong, I’m really good at grappling.” She added that she had never doubted she could make a statement as the underdog, saying: “I did think it was definitely possible to be that dominant.” The win gives Jasudavicius two in a row and seven victories in her past eight fights. In her previous outing she beat Karine Silva on a decision, following a loss to Manon Fiorot.
Natalia Silva holds the 125lb title after beating Wang Cong at UFC 332 for the belt, which was vacant while long-time champion Valentina Shevchenko was injured. Silva beat Jasudavicius on a decision at UFC Austin in 2022, but Jasudavicius said she had little footage of Silva to study before that fight and that both women have changed since. She said: “I’m a different fighter, and just like her, too. I feel like now, knowing her style, knowing what to expect, I would definitely prepare different for that fight and I think it makes sense for our paths to cross again.”
