Ozan Aslaner stopped Ireland's Denis Frimpong with punches at 4:16 of the first round of their 72kg catchweight on the OKTAGON 97 main card at the ZAG Arena in Hannover on Saturday night.

OKTAGON's official clip of the finish shows Aslaner landing punches with Frimpong against the fence before Frimpong goes down and the referee steps in. "He brought the storm!" OKTAGON wrote with the clip.

The pair had to be held apart by OKTAGON staff at the weigh-ins on Friday, where one of them was heard telling the other: "Your skin's gonna get sliced up tomorrow, mate." The announcer said Frimpong "called for this fight, he got his wish." Both made weight, Frimpong at 71.9kg and Aslaner at 71.95kg.

It is a second first-round loss in a row for Frimpong, 31, who was knocked out in the first round by Niko Samsonidse at OKTAGON 90 in June. The Manchester Top Team fighter came to OKTAGON through the OKTAGON Challenge England versus Ireland series, where he was a finalist, and went into Saturday at 8-4.

Aslaner, 29, from Paderborn, Germany, went in at 11-6-1 off the back of wins over Tichota and Lengál.

Igor Severino's bantamweight title defence against unbeaten home fighter Max Holzer topped the bill in Hannover.
