Darren Till has sent a message to Jake Paul after Cedric Doumbe was confirmed as Paul's next boxing opponent, leaving the British fighter without a bout he had publicly pushed to get done.
Paul will fight Doumbe at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on 24 December. Shortly after the announcement, Till wrote on X: “Absolutely terrified.” He added laughing-face, thumbs-up and rat emojis, and tagged both Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, the co-founder and chief executive of Most Valuable Promotions.

The former UFC title challenger was named among Paul's potential opponents only last week, when Bidarian told The Sun Sport that Till was one of the names they had been speaking to about Paul fighting in December or at the start of next year. Till had said he was waiting for his contract and urged Paul to hurry up and get the deal done, but his recent posts suggested talks between the two teams had gone quiet.
Doumbe, 34, is a two-time Glory welterweight champion who moved into MMA in 2021. He was set to make his UFC debut before his run with the promotion ended without him competing. He has not fought in over two years, and his only professional boxing contest came 11 years ago, a four-round bout that left him 1-0.
Till is much bigger than Doumbe and has been more active. He won three times in Misfits in 2025, twice by knockout, before switching to bare-knuckle boxing this year.
