Daniel Dubois says he will have an answer for any changes Fabio Wardley makes in rematch

Daniel Dubois has dismissed Fabio Wardley's plans to change his approach for their rematch on 17 October, saying he will be ready for whatever his opponent tries. Wardley has said he intends to tailor his game plan to change his fortune in the second fight, Bad Left Hook reported, but Dubois told DAZN the adjustments would make no difference.
Dubois recovered from two knockdowns to stop Wardley in the 11th round in May and take his WBO belt, and the rematch headlines the O2 Arena in London on Saturday 17 October, with Dubois defending the title. WBC champion Agit Kabayel has backed Dubois to win again, while saying Wardley can win if he uses his jab.
Dubois said: “They won’t work against me. Can make all the changes he wants, I’ll have an answer for everything he does.” The heavyweight was open about the nerves he carries into fights. He said he is sometimes anxious and tense before a bout and sometimes relaxed, and that the task is finding a balance between the two. He did not think those nerves were there before what he called the AJ fight, but said they crept in after his last fight with Usyk and the year he then spent out of the ring, which he put down to ring rust among other things.
Dubois said it was now up to him to perform, adding: “Good fighters need to stay active and this is the start of the next chapter of my career.” Asked where he stands in the division, he said: “Yeah, I’m definitely up there. Uncrowned king, I need to collect all the belts before I can really stamp my authority on this era of boxing.” Dubois named Wardley first among the opponents he wants, and said everyone in the top 10 would be a good fight and a good challenge.
