Tatiana Suarez beats Virna Jandiroba on all three cards at UFC Vegas 124: 'I want that belt'

The UFC's No 2 strawweight took a 30-27, 30-27, 29-28 decision over No 3 Jandiroba in the co-main event, her third straight win since losing her title shot to Weili Zhang.

Tatiana Suarez beat Virna Jandiroba by unanimous decision in the UFC Vegas 124 co-main event at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas on Saturday night, with the judges scoring the strawweight fight 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28.

"I feel like it was a good matchup," Suarez said in the octagon after the win. "She's excellent on the ground... I want that belt. I look forward to the challenge."

Suarez went straight for a single-leg takedown at the start, and Jandiroba kept her balance on one leg and made it back to the fence. In the second round Suarez got her down and kept control from the top without putting her in real danger. After about 90 seconds on the feet in the third, Suarez took her down again and kept control until the final horn.

Suarez came in as the UFC's No 2 strawweight, with Jandiroba No 3. Since losing a decision to Weili Zhang in her title shot, Suarez has beaten Amanda Lemos and Loopy Godinez, and this was her third win in a row.

Jandiroba had said before the fight that whoever won it "deserves another title shot", and that it "could be a title eliminator". Mackenzie Dern, the champion, has beaten Jandiroba twice, including in their fight for the vacant title.

The pair had been booked to fight twice before. Jandiroba pulled out of their 2023 fight with a knee injury, and Suarez withdrew from their UFC 310 booking in December 2024.
