Carl Froch is looking forward to a rematch between heavyweight world champions Daniel Dubois and Filip Hrgovic, and said Hrgovic will give Dubois all he wants.

Hrgovic, the IBF heavyweight champion, entered the ring on Saturday night after Dubois beat Fabio Wardley and demanded a second fight. Dubois stopped Hrgovic in the eighth round when they met more than two years ago.

Dubois's win over Wardley came five months after their first meeting in Manchester. Dubois caught the Ipswich fighter clean on the chin 17 seconds into the rematch, leaving him dazed as referee Steve Gray began a count. Dubois kept throwing punches from there until the towel came in during the second round.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Froch on Fighting, the former world champion said: “He [Dubois] is flying now, he is on the crest of a wave.” He added: “He had the rematch, sold out the O2 [Arena] and everybody is talking about him.” Froch said the fight had not lived up to expectations because of Dubois. He said: “That is all credit to Daniel Dubois for that performance.” Froch also praised Hrgovic's presence when he got into the ring, describing him as a likeable, sellable character who means business despite a slight language barrier. He called Hrgovic's win over Moses Itauma pretty special and pointed to their history. Froch said Hrgovic was all over Dubois early in their first fight, landing combinations and catching him repeatedly.

The rematch is not Hrgovic's immediate assignment. He looks set to make the first defence of his IBF title on home soil in Croatia, with Frank Sanchez waiting for his shot.
