Canelo Alvarez expected to earn $47 million base fee for Christian Mbilli fight
Mbilli, the WBC interim super middleweight champion, is in line for around $9 million for Saturday's fight in Riyadh.

Canelo Alvarez is expected to receive a flat base fee of $47 million for Saturday's fight with Christian Mbilli in Riyadh, BoxingScene reported, before his share of the pay-per-view and his sponsorship income. Mbilli is in line for a base of around $9 million.
That base is half of what Alvarez reportedly received for his fight with Terence Crawford last year, and the Mbilli fight is his first since he lost to Crawford.
Saudi Arabia has been hit by Houthi missile and drone attacks, but Turki Alalshikh has said the fight will go ahead as planned. Trainer Robert Garcia has said his team pulled out of the undercard over missile alerts. The card is due to start at 10pm GMT on Saturday and is live on DAZN pay-per-view in the UK (start time and records).
