Joshua Van will put his UFC flyweight title on the line against Manel Kape at UFC 336 at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on 30 January.
The fight was announced during the UFC 333 broadcast on Saturday. The same card will feature an interim welterweight title fight between Carlos Prates and Michael Morales in the co-main event.
Kape earns his title shot as the No. 1 contender after five straight wins, all of them finishes. The most recent was a third-round knockout of Kyoji Horiguchi.
Van, 25, rose quickly after taking a short-notice fight against Brandon Royval. He won the flyweight title when the then champion, Alexandre Pantoja, suffered an injury seconds into their fight.
The champion has since beaten Tatsuro Taira in his first defence and then defeated Pantoja in their rematch.
