Ryan Garcia says Floyd Mayweather talks have begun and wants his 50-0 record on the line
The WBC welterweight champion, who knocked out Britain's Conor Benn in the second round last month, has ruled out an exhibition with the unbeaten American.

Ryan Garcia says talks over a fight with Floyd Mayweather have begun, and he wants it to be a sanctioned professional bout with Mayweather's unbeaten 50-0 record at stake rather than an exhibition.
"Okay Floyd let's see how much you love that '0'," Garcia wrote on X. In a later post he said he would not take an exhibition and wanted Mayweather's zero on the line, adding: "I'm ready Floyd, remember you made this call." He also wrote: "Offer is on the table. Accept or not, if not I move forward as I have been."
Garcia told Fred Beck of Fred Talks Fighting in Miami that negotiations had started, and predicted he would knock Mayweather out. "If I get him hurt early it's over," he said.
No public response from Mayweather has been reported, and no agreement, date or venue has been announced. He turns 50 in February 2027 and has not had a professional fight since beating Conor McGregor in 2017, with his recent outings all exhibitions.
Garcia made the first defence of his WBC welterweight title last month, stopping Benn in the second round in Las Vegas.
