Aaron Pico says he is ready to fight for a UFC title, and that he would be prepared to win if he were asked to face featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski on Saturday.

Pico, who meets Losene Keita at UFC 333 on Saturday, told MMA Fighting at UFC 333 media day that his training has brought him to that point. "I will say this, where I'm at in my training and how I'm developing, I believe I'm ready to fight for a title. I can truly say that," he said. "If they called me and said, hey, you need to fight Volkanovski on Saturday, I know with what I've been doing and my mindset and little things that I'm changing, I'm prepared to win."

He said a good performance against Keita would not hurt his chances. "And with a good performance Saturday night, I definitely don't think it's going to hurt me to be closer to the title," Pico said. "But if they call me whenever to fight for the title, I'll be ready. And I will say that I will be champion one day."

Keita, who also spoke to MMA Fighting at media day, said talk about Pico's chin does not concern him. "I think I'm a better martial artist than him, and it's my time," Keita said.
