Lauren Price will put her IBF, WBA and WBC welterweight titles on the line against Michaela Kotaskova at the Utilita Arena in Cardiff on Friday, 20 November, BBC Sport reports. The fight will be shown live on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
Kotaskova, 34, holds the WBF title and has lost only once as a professional. That defeat came on points against Chantelle Cameron, now a unified world champion, when the pair fought for the vacant WBO super-welterweight title in April 2026. The Czech fighter now drops back to welterweight, where she is unbeaten.
Price, a 32-year-old southpaw and former Olympic champion from Bargoed, made her previous title defence at the same venue, where she earned a hard-fought win over mandatory challenger Stephanie Pineiro Aquino. She said: “There's nothing better than fighting at home in Wales.” Price described Kotaskova as a tough and experienced opponent who has competed at world level, but said she believes she is the best welterweight in the world.
Kotaskova said she had already shown she could compete with the best and that this was her moment. She said: “I have a lot of respect for Lauren and everything she has achieved, but I am coming to Cardiff to take her titles.” Price's promoter, Ben Shalom, said: “Kotaskova is a good fighter and will provide a tough test but Lauren has huge ambitions, and she knows she has to keep winning and keep producing big performances to secure her legacy.” On the undercard, Welsh featherweight Rhys Edwards fights Scotland's Lee McGregor, a former British, Commonwealth and European champion, for the WBA continental title. Unbeaten Cardiff middleweight Kyran Jones also faces Liverpool's Sean Arkwright.
