Michael Larrimore and Ace Samples share five knockdowns in one round at BKFC Clearwater
Larrimore was dropped himself before putting Samples down twice more for a first-round TKO win in his hometown.
Michael Larrimore beat Ace Samples by first-round TKO at BKFC Fight Night Clearwater on Friday night, in a bantamweight bout that produced five knockdowns inside a single round.
Larrimore, who lists Clearwater, Florida as his hometown, dropped Samples twice. Samples answered with a right hand that put Larrimore down for the third knockdown of the round.
Larrimore got back up and scored knockdowns four and five, and referee Chris Young stepped in to stop the fight in round one.
Speaking after the fight, Larrimore paid tribute to Samples, who kept getting back up. "You brought the best out of me. Thank you so much," he said.
He was quick to play down the performance. "I got a lot of work to do. That was far from perfect. I'm grateful for the victory, but I want to keep getting better," Larrimore said, adding: "Maybe top five, top 10 next."
