Dalton Smith will put his WBC light-welterweight world title on the line for the first time when he meets Alberto Puello in Sheffield on Saturday, 24 October.
The fight brings the unbeaten 29-year-old back to his home city as world champion, nine months after he stopped Subriel Matias in New York in the biggest win of his career.
The bout has already been delayed once. Smith was originally scheduled to face Puello, his mandatory challenger, at the Utilita Arena in June, but an injury he suffered in training forced a postponement.
Puello, 32, comes to Sheffield as a former WBA and WBC champion. The Dominican has lost only once as a professional, and that defeat came against Matias, the man Smith went on to dethrone. Puello lost the WBC title in 2025 and now has the chance to win it back.
