Joaquin Buckley tells Mike Malott "Don't nobody know you" in UFC Edmonton A-side row
Malott said Buckley would never headline in Canada without him, as the pair prepare for Saturday's welterweight main event at Rogers Place.
Mike Malott and Joaquin Buckley argued over who is the real draw in Edmonton at media day for Saturday's UFC Fight Night, where they meet in the welterweight main event at Rogers Place.
Malott, fighting in his home country, said at the UFC Edmonton media day: "I've main evented in Canada without him. He would never main event in Canada without me. Like, he's in the main event because I'm the main event for this fight."
He added: "We just need somebody who's in a position that I can take, and he's the guy whose spot I plan on taking."
Buckley, speaking separately at media day, saw it differently. "Well, it's hard to be the A-side when you're unknown," he said. "But Mike Malott, though, it's just a true story. Don't nobody know you, fam."
He went on: "Don't be saying lies, bro, you know? You're trying to become the A-side."
For UK viewers the action opens at 22:00 BST on Saturday, with the main event expected at around 03:30 on Sunday morning: UFC Fight Night UK start time: Buckley vs Malott.
