Sheriff's deputy Luis Hernandez weighs 204lb for short-notice UFC debut against Sedriques Dumas
The unbeaten Miami-Dade deputy replaced Mickey Gall on two days' notice and came in seven pounds heavier than Dumas for Saturday's light heavyweight bout, on the main card at around 1am UK time.
Luis Hernandez weighed in at 204lb on Friday for his short-notice UFC debut against Sedriques Dumas at UFC Vegas 121, seven pounds heavier than Dumas at 197lb, MMA Fighting reported. Dumas was due to fight Mickey Gall at middleweight, but when Gall withdrew on Thursday, Hernandez stepped in and the bout moved up to light heavyweight, with its 205lb limit.

Hernandez, 30, is 8-0, and every one of his wins since turning professional in 2021 has come by stoppage. He earned his UFC contract with a second-round submission on Dana White's Contender Series on 15 September, MMA Junkie reported.
He is also a deputy with the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, and the pairing has drawn attention online because of his opponent's past. MMA Junkie reported that Dumas, 31, has been arrested 14 times in Escambia County, Florida, since 2014, and that in 2025 he pleaded no contest to possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon. It said he was released by the UFC after that conviction and later brought back.
Dumas, a former Contender Series winner, is 10-5 with one no contest and goes in on a four-fight winless streak that includes the no contest. Raul Rosas Jr. and Raoni Barcelos headline the card.
