Francis Ngannou vs Jon Jones could bring Netflix back to MVP MMA, report says
Netflix is unlikely to stage another MVP MMA event soon despite May's card peaking at 17 million viewers, according to combat sports insider Blake Avignon, who cited sources within the company.

Netflix has no plans to broadcast another MVP mixed martial arts card in the near future, and only a major fight involving Francis Ngannou could change that, combat sports insider Blake Avignon has reported.
Avignon wrote on X: “@Netflix is unlikely to carry another @MostVpromotions MMA event anytime soon, according to sources within the company familiar with the situation.” He added that a blockbuster Ngannou fight against a marquee opponent such as Jon Jones could bring the streaming platform back to the table, but that Jones remains under UFC contract with no release in sight.
Avignon said the situation comes amid a shake-up at Netflix, with Peter Rice replacing Bela Bajaria as chief content officer on 26 October and taking oversight of live events and sports.
Jones appeared on the MVP MMA 1 broadcast and set out his intention to get out of his UFC contract so he could finally fight Ngannou.
That card, staged at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood in May, peaked at 17 million viewers and broke viewership records. Ronda Rousey submitted Gina Carano in the main event, while Ngannou, the former UFC heavyweight champion, knocked out Philipe Lins on the undercard.
MVP is now merging with the PFL. No broadcast deal for the brand has been announced, and a permanent home on Netflix appears to be out of the question.
