"That s*** was trash": Elijah Smith tells Josh Hokit to 'stay in your lane' over diss track
Smith offered to go 'bar for bar' with the UFC heavyweight title challenger, days before the last fight on his own UFC contract against England's Davey Grant.

Elijah Smith dismissed Josh Hokit's diss track as "trash" at UFC Vegas 124 media day on Wednesday, offered to go "bar for bar" with him and told the UFC heavyweight title challenger to "stay in your lane".
"I'm cooking his a**," Smith said as a reporter brought up the song, before the question had reached Hokit's name. Asked what he made of it, he said: "That s*** was trash. That s*** was trash. He don't want to go bar for bar. He don't want to do that. He don't want to do that. If you want to do that, we could do that. Let's ... as a matter of fact, let's do that. Let's do that."
Smith went on: "I'm telling you, I'm gonna drop some s*** on you ... you probably want to just stay quiet. But keep doing your thing in the, in the cage and go get that belt. But when it comes down to the music thing, stay in your lane. Stay in your lane."
He had the same message for Tyron Woodley. Asked whether Woodley had opened the doors for fighters like him, Smith said: "No, definitely not. He, he better stay in his lane too."
Hokit put out "MSG Freestyle" under the rap name J-Word, with lines aimed at Ciryl Gane, Jon Jones, Tom Aspinall, Alex Pereira and Ilia Topuria. He challenges Gane for the title in the UFC 334 main event at Madison Square Garden on 14 November.
Smith makes music of his own. He said he walked out to his own song, "What's Next", at his last fight, and that a new one will play him out on Saturday, when he faces Bishop Auckland's Davey Grant at the Meta APEX.
Smith said that is the last fight on his contract, that he will be a free agent afterwards and that nobody has spoken to him about a new deal. He said he is confident of getting one but has to win first. The 23-year-old has won all three of his UFC fights and is on an eight-fight winning streak.
