Ryosuke Nishida and Sam Goodman meet for the vacant IBF super-bantamweight interim title at the Toyota Arena in Tokyo on Sunday. Nishida, a southpaw from Kashiba in Nara, held the IBF bantamweight title before losing it to Junto Nakatani in June 2025 and now moves up in weight for another route to a world title. Goodman, the Albion Park orthodox boxer, brings a 22-1 record with eight knockouts into Japan. The bout is scheduled for twelve rounds. It features on a Tokyo card that also includes Takuma Inoue defending his WBC bantamweight title against Tenshin Nasukawa, and Tomoya Tsuboi facing Ricardo Malajica for the vacant WBC super-flyweight title.
